Inktober is upon us!

Inktober 4: #underwater #young survivor It happened on a tuesday. Raleigh tugged her helmet on snug, smoothing out the wrinkles where the suit bunched against her small frame. " It'll be amazing." He assured her, the bars of the helmet nearly blocking any clear vision of him. Or perhaps that was the excitement brimming. She'd wanted to go underwater since she was a child, and when her father built her her own little suit, well, she had just about lost all semblance of control. It made it seem almost surreal, standing here in this heavy thing. It was nothing short of uncomfortable to be sure, but it was going to be the best day of her life. The process of lowering her into the water went painfully slow, her father peering over the boat to be sure everything went JUST right. He wouldn't let anyone else watch over the oxygen tanks she was hooked up to by a long strange pipe, nor would he let anyone else go near her. She wasn't worried either way. Though, in hindsight, she should have been. Because that's when everything went terribly wrong. When the pipe snagged on something- the dang helmet wouldn't let her turn to see what exactly it snagged on. And just like that, in a flurry of bubbles, everything went black. When at last she opened her eyes she spotted the light beaming through the waters, just out of reach. And try as she may she could not move far. She twisted here and there until at last the helmet turned and from the corner of the side window she spotted it- an anchor coiled round her ankle. She could hardly move her arms in this big suit to get to untangle it. She considered taking off her helmet, and shrugging off the suit, but her father had made her promise, no matter how uncomfortable she was that she wasn't to take her helmet off until she was out of the water. So she waited. And waited. And waited.

Inktober 2: #Divided #agirlandherdog We could all use a hug from a puppy right now. Heart and prayers go to Vegas and those involved.
One of the things I love participating in every year is Inktober! It's fun, it gets a lot of people looking at your work, and it's great practice. (I also love inks so it just fits perfectly.)
I'll be posting some of my Inktobers here, but most will be posted to my Tumblr and my Facebook.

My themes this year are Jake Parkers Official 2017 Inktober list, and the Post Apocalyptic Wanderers prompt.
